Saturday before Tri United 2, I was searching for my Garmin’s ANT stick so I could transfer all past data as my watch’s memory was close to filled up. But since it was a last minute decision and I was rushing to finish other items on my pre race checklist, I accidentally dropped the box where my Cobra Ironman 70.3’s medal was kept and carefully wrapped. I cursed myself while my heart crashed when I saw the really hard earned medal broke into pieces!
So, I had to wrap everything again, in the same soft white towel and thought “I really have to finish this year’s Cobra so I can have a finishers medal to keep!” The broken medal infact became my motivation to finish well the following day’s Tri United 2, a practice race for Cobra Ironman 70.3.
When registration opened last December, slots have been sold out in just 4 days! Yes, that is a proof of how exciting the event will be on August 4, 2013! Together with almost 2,000 registrants and an expected 100,000+ spectators from our cheerful Cebuanos to support groups of local and foreign participants, I am excited and looking forward to Cobra Ironman 70.3’s fifth race in the Philippines!
But of course I look forward especially to earning the finishers medal designed by world renowned Kenneth Cobunpue!
