37 Days Till Cobra Ironman 70.3 – The Emotions of Century Tuna 5i50

Fit + Academy classmate Hazel asked me to join as the biker of an all female relay team a few moths ago for this years 5i50 race. Without having second thoughts, I said yes cause I will be at the event anyway to support my husband who’s doing the full course and Bea doing the swim for Fit + Academy in the all female division. So, this will just be another training day for me.

However, this post will not focus on how my race went. Well I finished it safely and faster than my expected time, just that to keep my description brief. But let me share with you photos taken by Angelo Baretto that I have requested so that those familiar and not with the field of triathlon and the Century Tuna 5i50 event will be inspired to try or go further his limits.

The day before

Age groupers try the swim route the day before the race.
Can you see the varied emotions on their faces?

Swim start

1.5 kilometer swim seemed to be too long!
No turning back or else how will one get to T1?

Tarlac emotions

Need I say more about the bike course?

anybody can be a triathlete (L-disabled, 777-Uytengsu, R-big guy)

Though tough triathlon maybe, anyone can give it a try, from a very respectable
handicap, to someone as fit as Mr. Wilfred Uytengsu… Triathlon is for any size…
big or small…

About pinayironmom

Pinay Ironmom is a typical mom who wakes up before 6 am to prepare my 3 children for school. After this, I make my husband coffee, similar to the Nescafe commercial on TV of a couple's typical morning. Work is normally a tour of Northern or Southern Luzon to inspect projects we are building, checking quality of designs or preparation of presentations to prospective clients. My schedule is flexible luckily, I can squeeze in hearty lunches with my favorite lunchmate and training early in the afternoon or right after business hours. Weekends are bike days on Saturdays at MOA or Daang Reyna and Sunday is my me time - my long run day. Oh warm ups and stretchings are trips to the grocery, cool down is hearing mass and giving thanks to God for a wonderful week. This is ME :)
