I do not blog about travel which I love, so this will be the first post in this category 🙂 No training or sport related event? Ah we did not join any triathlon race or anything similar but we packed our training gears of course…so here it goes…
It may be too late but our family had one last bite of summer vacation’s hurrah in the land of chicken rice, yes Singapore lah! Why this late? Well, because kids were preoccupied with summer activities – Taekwondo for the little one, college review class for Bea and soccer training with the coaches of GOM for the soccer guy.
So, why Singapore? Well yeah, our close friends asked us the question “why” when we have lived there for 2 years not so long time ago, during the outbreak of SARS. Quite some time ago isn’t it? Well, because the little one had never been there and he has heard about the Transformers ride at Universal Studios. Any Bumblee fan would of course want to experience a very popular ride! So, the argument was definitely over on where to go since the little one is quite good in convincing us, to the dismay of the siblings who wanted to visit Hong Kong.
So fly we did to our destination – Resorts World Sentosa!
Luckily, I found a promo earlier for our stay at Equarius Hotel, with tickets included at the S.E.A. Aquarium, Universal Studios and the Adventure Cove. Saved us a lot of sunny time queuing up for tickets! Below are photos of our amazing hotel, very cozy, well designed (a must on finding a hotel to stay for the designer me) and the sites we went to.
A view of one of our rooms. Bubba will not leave his luggage behind!
Luckily there were connecting doors so I can check the kids
Nice toilet right?
…..great shower too!
The coffee shop of Equarius Hotel was named “Forest” thus the nature and trees motif, great imagination!
Branches all over the ceiling!
at the S.E.A. Aquarium, they claim to be the biggest in the world!
These are so beautiful jelly fishes, not the ones on races thankfully cause I can’t imagine how these sting!
Universal Studios Singapore may not be as big as the the one in Los Angeles, but the fun was just the same!
Finally the reason for the Singapore trip! The number 1 fan posing in front of the Transformer ride! Oh this made me sooo dizzy, I closed my eyes half of the whole experience!! But Bubba was the happiest!
I will never ride a roller coaster! Not for those with a weak heart! The kids said it was such a short ride though 🙁
Everyone loves Elmo!
We were all looking forward to a gastranomic dining experience with the hawkers at Smith St. in Chinatown! Unfortunately, the place was under renovation so we had to settle having dinner at a nearby place.
I have always been amazed with the vivid colors of these souvenir items! But i never bought of course haha!
Disappointed not to have a taste of the grilled sting ray, so a pose with Chinatown as the background will be fine this time.
Our Singapore trip will not be complete without having a taste of Iced Lemon Tea and Tiger Beer! Don’t worry the kids just had the iced tea!
We still managed to squeeze in some workouts despite the fun… these are Bea’s actually
… and I enjoyed the serenity of my early morning swim while everyone was still in dreamland …
my lap pool for a few days, with a 25m… 50m… and…
75m lane! Yes it was that long!! There were white markers that can not be seen in the photos! It was a heavenly lap pool!
But of course my peace was broken once they were awake….
one more shot!
