Earlier today, Swimbikerun.ph has announced the winners of the 2012 SBRawards. Unfortunately, Bea did not have enough votes to have won the title Female Youth Triathlete of the year.
The second tally released last January 7 showed Bea had 490 votes, and 31 points behind the 1st placer. When our family learned about this, we have been amazed and very thankful for the votes our daughter had received. Emails, SMS and messages from Facebook had been overwhelming since then. Encouraging and supportive words from fellow triathletes and friends have flooded our families email as well.
To Swimbikerun.ph, thank you for the voting fever experience.
To all our relatives, friends, Bea’s180 batchmates (yes they are that few), teachers, my office staff and clients, my husbands colleagues, thank you for spending the very precious 5 minutes to vote and confirm thru email.
To our classmates at Fit + Academy, friends from Beacon Five Fingers, Camelbak Tri, Century Tuna, Second Wind, Clear Sabak, Bike King, Unilab, David’s Salon, Von Dutch Cycling Team, Isuzu Dmax Team, Team Triabetics, Polo Tri, Greenhills Tri etc., plus the coaches who believe in Bea, maraming salamat po. No need to mention names ha, you guys know who you are!
To all the winners especially to the little boy and girl youth triathlete of the year winners, congratulations! Do not be shy to ask for tips from your Kuya Javi Ocampo, Ate Bea and Ate Vicky Deldio who have been in the field of Philippine triathlon for several years.
Once, again, “Just because you believe in Bea” is enough to make a 16 year old feel like a winner!
