Wednesday is our usual run day, but since typhoon “Gener” seemed to have found it more fun in the Philippines and stayed a little longer, our coach suggested we do our program on a treadmill. However, since it was just drizzling in our part of Manila, my husband and I decided to do the run drills in our village. It was a 10 minute warm up, 6 x 400, in my case sub 6:00 to sub 5:30 only, with 400m recovery in between, then finally a 10 min cool down. My run went okay and even paced up to sub 5 though the road was slippery with the leaves and broken branches. At the end of my cool down, I felt a slight pain on my left heel. Ouch! It was from an old injury I got several months back when I did a wrong jump to avoid stepping on floor tiles freshly installed.
So Thursday was INTERCARE to the rescue. My heel was swollen but ultrasound has been done and medication prescribed. The staff promised I’d be ready to run by Sunday….
