End of Off Peak Season

This week, my husband and I thought why not have a barbeque dinner at home after the training to celebrate the end of off season!? So, after five of us did the off season bike trainer session (yes there is such a thing) with our two coaches, everyone feasted on (what I can easily prepare as our cook just resigned) pork barbeque, chicken inasal (grilled chicken) sinigang na bangus sa miso (milkfish in tamarind and miso soup), plenty of chips, beer and ice cream! It was a simple dinner and I don’t think my cooking was excellent (no one said the food was good LOL) but everyone seemed to have fun and stayed late even if the mosquitos feasted on our legs.

I din’t take photos of the dinner nor the food preparation since it slipped my mind to take some souvenir shots. I guess I was preoccupied if the grilling was done right, the soup warmed enough, and simply if everyone was having a fantastic time. 🙂

This week also, I realized that it was my 1st year anniversary in swimming training! Yes, it’s been a year now! So, to celebrate this, I did a lot of amazon.com shopping! Well, I splurged on a few items that hopefully will make me faster. These are some of my motivation finds:

There were some items in my cart, but it will be a long list then if I post all the rest. So, after shocking my credit card and giving Amazon and Ebay a few dollars of profit, let us welcome the start of 2012 training! It’s now the end of off season…and the start of a new season! Let us train and race safe everyone!

About pinayironmom

Pinay Ironmom is a typical mom who wakes up before 6 am to prepare my 3 children for school. After this, I make my husband coffee, similar to the Nescafe commercial on TV of a couple's typical morning. Work is normally a tour of Northern or Southern Luzon to inspect projects we are building, checking quality of designs or preparation of presentations to prospective clients. My schedule is flexible luckily, I can squeeze in hearty lunches with my favorite lunchmate and training early in the afternoon or right after business hours. Weekends are bike days on Saturdays at MOA or Daang Reyna and Sunday is my me time - my long run day. Oh warm ups and stretchings are trips to the grocery, cool down is hearing mass and giving thanks to God for a wonderful week. This is ME :)
